Merther

Merther is a four-piece jam band from Blue Hill, ME, mixing elements of roots reggae, dub, psychedelic rock, and space funk. Constantly expanding. It all started when a group of super good friends came back from a music festival in Maine with inspiration flowing through all of their veins due to the incredible experiences they had together throughout the festival weekend. These fired up souls drove back home to Blue Hill and decided they wanted to make some music. They jammed for hours that particular night, and things have been expanding ever since. After about 2 years of being together, Merther added a fifth member, James Morang, to the line up as the synth/keys/organ player. After about 3 months as a five-piece towards the end of the summer of 2014, bass player and founding member, Andre Reinero retired to California leaving then synth player, James Morang to pick up the bass. In May of 2015, bass master Tony Margaronis joined Merther, and James transitioned back over to the keys. In October of 2015 hand percussionist and founding member Kyle Chick decided to take a step back to pursue other forms of art, thus making Merther a four-piece band once again.
