The O'Pears

The O’Pears are Meg Contini, Jill Harris and Lydia Persaud, three ladies hailing from different cities, who met in Toronto, Ontario six years ago. They write original music and arrange favourites, old and new, to showcase their blend and tight harmony. Drawing inspiration from groups such as The Wailin Jennys, Andrews Sisters, and Crosby, Stills, and Nash, The O’Pears have created a vast and diverse repertoire of original Folk, A cappella, R&B, Celtic, and Bluegrass music. These young women have performed at various venues and events in and around Toronto, including NXNE, and the Sing! Vocal Arts Festival in both Toronto and Austin, Texas, opening for Canadian greats, The Nylons. The overwhelmingly positive reception of their debut EP, “Our Own” in July 2013, along with a growing wealth of original music, has led to plans for a self-titled debut album to be released in the fall of 2015.
