Watercolour is a young, eight piece alternative rock band originating from the Northern suburbs of Melbourne. The band was formed by guitarist, Noah Churches and pianist, Lachlan Phipps after meeting when they were homeschooled. The pair soon recruited many friends and the band quickly became heavily involved in their local community of young artists. Through the few years that the group have been performing together, a unique sound has been born from the collision of a multitude of instruments played by individually skilled members. The genre bending band cite a diverse array of influences including Led Zeppelin, Cake, The Beards and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. As the band have grown from performing interesting interpretations of covers, to having a collection of originals, they have dipped into many genres, such as folk, jazz, funk and blues. Whilst gaining experience performing live, Watercolour have had a number of local successes including, Eltham Festival Battle of the Bands, First Place, 2015 Nillumbik Push Start Battle of the Bands, First Place, 2016 Northern Metro Region Finals - Push Start Comp, First Place, 2016 The band released an EP, Radio Pool, in March 2017!
