Caverns, citadels and castles composing a score of phantasmagoria, forests haunted by the blows of ancient times, mythical creatures, legends born of stone and mystery… The music of Darkenhöld draws its inspiration from the source of original times of epic and oniric Black Metal. After two split CD's and an appearance on a tribute to Emperor, the band worked on sculpting its first opus, « A passage to the towers ». Ten chapters displays a certain art of black metal, adorned with melodious darkness and medieval atmospheres. Ten stories partly captured at the Cox In Hell studio, completed, mixed and mastered in the Drudenhaus Studio by Neb Xort. After that, the band defended its album on stage, contributed to a tribute to Enslaved, and submitted two new tracks for « La Maisniee du Maufé – A Tribute to the Dark Age », a collection of previously unreleased tracks delivered by four French bands wishing to pay a tribute to medieval times, Darkenhöld got down to the writing of its second opus forthcoming in 2012. With the second opus, « Echoes From The Stone Keeper » the band developped here its universe, showing its evocative power and putting an accent on its sound signature, drenched in the ink of a melodic Black Metal, with landscapes and underground galleries possessed by the medieval majesty, haloed by atmospheres and opened on imagination. "Castellum", the third album is released in 2014, it goes deeper in the medieval and historical aspects. "Memoria Sylvarum", the fourth album is released in May 2017 in CD format on Éditions de la Vieille Tour and in tape format on Folkvangr Records. This last opus is an ode to solitary wanderings in the forest and forgotten ruins. -------------------------- (FR) Darkenhöld puise son inspiration à la source d'un Black-Metal onirique, épique et médiéval. Après deux split-cds avec Fhoi Myore et Naastrand (2009) et une apparition sur un tribute à Emperor (2009), le groupe a signé avec le label Ancestrale Production et travaillé à la sculpture de son premier opus, "A Passage To The Towers" (2010), témoin d'un certain art oublié du Black Metal. Ce premier album déployait dix histoires enregistrées au Cox in Hell Studio, puis masterisées au Drudenhaus Studion par Neb Xort. Le groupe s'est alors attelé à défendre sa musique sur scène avant d'entamer l'écriture de son deuxième opus. Parallèlement à ce travail de composition et à ses prestations Live, Darkenhöld a contribué à un tribute à Enslaved (2012) et proposé deux titres originaux pour "La Maisnie du Maufé - A Tribute to the Dark Ages" (2012), un recueil thématique rassemblant quatre formations françaises autour de morceaux inédits. Mais ces différentes sorties ne détournaient pas le groupe de son objectif prioritaire : donner un successeur à "A passage to the towers" : Le label Those Opposed Records accueillait la bannière de Darkenhöld et lançait "Echoes From The Stone Keeper" fin novembre 2012. Le groupe y développe encore son univers, son pouvoir évocateur et sa signature sonore, coulant d'une encre Black Metal mélodique ciselant paysages brumeux, passages souterrains mystérieux, majesté médiévale et atmosphères prenantes. "Castellum" sort en septembre 2014 chez Those Opposed Record et Les Acteurs de l'Ombre en édition vinyle et K7, le groupe renforce l'aspect médiéval et épique sur ce dernier. En 2017 sort "Memoria Sylvarum" en format CD chez les Editions de la Vieille Tour, puis en K7 chez Folkvangr Records.
