I saw James in the spring of 1993 in Dallas and I had a blast at that show! Last night’s performance was even better after all these years! It was a memorable experience! ❤️🙏😊

Boulder showed up for James, and James showed off for Boulder. In the warm, art-deco glow of the Boulder Theater, Tim Booth and company walked us through a beautifully sequenced set that felt like a conversation—part confession, part catharsis, part communal howl. Early on we got the slow-burn shimmer of “Skindiving” into the widescreen sprawl of “Five-O,” and that unmistakable whoop on “Born of Frustration” reminded everyone why this band still raises neck hairs three decades on. Later, “Out to Get You” landed like a hand on the shoulder—Saul’s violin threading through the room—before “Sometimes” turned the crowd into a choir and “Laid” sent us home giddy and a little hoarse.
What made the night special wasn’t just the hits; it was the dynamics. “Seven” and “Sound” came in tidal—quiet patience giving way to storm—while newer cuts like “Beautiful Beaches” and “Everybody Knows” sat comfortably beside the classics, proof the band’s heart is still beating forward. The setlist read like a love letter to Laid-era devotees with extra ink for the deep-cut nerds (“Dream Thrum,” “Knuckle Too Far,” “P.S.”—chef’s kiss). If you came to relive a soundtrack, you left with a reminder: James don’t trade in nostalgia; they deal in presence. Last night, they had all of ours.
Bonus points for the venue—intimate, reverent, and loud in all the right ways—which made the sing-alongs feel like family business. North America’s getting the good stuff this run; Boulder just happened to catch lightning in a gilded room.
