Black Joe Lewis

The music was phenomenal!....El Corazon, however, is ill equipped to handle any kind of crowd. We were so jam-packed into this place that you barely had room to move, and for some reason, people feel right at home just pushing their way right past you, whether you had a drink in your hand or not. It definitely made the show hard to watch.It would take a lot for me to ever want to return there.

As a native Austinite, I had always wanted to see Black Joe Lewis live as he is from Austin as well. I never had the opportunity to see him until now, when I moved to Knoxville! I'm so glad he came through though. He's even more talented than I remember, and his guitar chops are beyond compare. I loved how much the crowd was getting into it as well. He definitely brought it. The energy was amazing, and I had such a great time. The theater itself has such a good energy, and has perfectly preserved its history. It's like a much smaller version of the Paramount Theater in Austin. I only have a couple of complaints about the venue itself. The beverage selection was lacking - only beer and wine. There was not a single White Claw or other spiked seltzer or even a cider. I can't drink winer without it burning my stomach, and I'm pretty gluten-sensitive, so beer would not have been my first choice. The beer selection was really random as well - not the most popular beers from which to choose. Also, I didn't like how the merch tables were set up. I was on the first floor, and the tables were on the second, but only during the show!!! Normally, I am able to walk out in the lobby after leaving the show and purchase a T-shirt or album, but not in this case. This was pretty disappointing as I would have liked to have bought both. This had to be frustrating to the bands as well since they could have made some extra money. I really felt rushed out at the end of the show, which is an experience I have never had in any other larger city. I will attend future shows @ the Bijou, but I sure hope they will reconsider both their alcohol selection and where they set up the merch tables.

No one puts on a better show. Hands down. This man should be so much bigger than he is. You people don’t even know

Joe was unbelievable as usual. He and the Honeybears wear on top of their game. Joe has to be the most underrated guitarist of all time. There is no bullshit to his guitar playing. He can go toe to toe with anybody that slings a six stringed instrument. Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears never disappoint.

Great show by Black Joe Lewis! The Arlington crowd was “dead” as in old and lifeless but was awesome PG-13 show by my man from Austin- he never disappoints!

Black Joe Lewis is absolutely amazing to witness live! We were a bit skeptical of seeing him perform in such a small venue but he absolutely blew the place away with his performance! The Man is always worth the price of admission AND MORE!

He and band were terrific. First time seeing them. Will definitely go next time they are in town. Great electric blues band.

I enjoyed the show at the Ardmore Music Hall on 12/6/23; however, I was disappointed that he didn't have a horn/brass section, because they really take his songs to another level. BJL, next time bring the horns please.

Black Joe Lewis put on a great performance. It was a fun and lively crowd from start to finish. Emily Wolfe shredded the hell out of the place, it was amazing! Both Emily Wolfe and Black Joe Lewis were really nice to meet with afterwards too!

Black Joe was fantastic!!! Great band, and Joe is an incredible guitarist with a killer voice. Excellent show!!!!!

Kickass. There are few and far between guitarists that have the same technical expertise plus showmanship as Black Joe Lewis. Can’t wait to see him again.

First time seeing a concert at the Aladdin. And first time seeing BJL as a 3-piece band. Sound was awesome. Band was great. Had solid Hendrix/Band of Gypsys vibes. Did miss a little fuller sound on a few songs, but enjoyed every minute of them otherwise.

This was a crazy cool show, it was strange seeing exactly the crowd you'd expect to see at a $Norwalk CT$ summer town beach concert but, Black Joe did not hold anything back! I had a nice seat on the seawall about 40 feet from the stage. You'd remember me if you were there as I was THE ONLY person wearing a tye die! The crowd was polite and some of them got up and swayed slightly side to side. I thought they were a bit tipsy at first, but then I noticed they were all facing the stage and realized that's how Norwalk people dance. They guys gave it all and I was sad to see the end, but can't complain about a thing; they even played "You been lying" at the end when they heard me calling for it! 💥💯💥 would LOVE to see them again real soon. Come to New England again this summer guys! Black Joe! Black Joe Lewis motherfucker!!!

Was weird to see this band at an art museum fundraiser filled with wealthy suburb folk, many of whom were dressed - no shit - as Barbies. But whatever. Black Joe Lewis tore it up! And we got to be about 10ft from the stage.

Black Joe Lewis never fails to put on an energetic and amazing show. His music always makes me dance through the entire show.

Hard working performer, who is having as much fun as his audience. A tight band, playing nearly 2 hours nonstop. It was a concert I'm not going to forget!

I didn't get to go but my buddy Jimbo said to me the next day he had no tail feathers, he shook them all off! BJL is legit!

BJL totally brought down the house!! Blues, punk , funk, jazz, he has it all! Black Joe Lewis is the gospel truth! So much energy!
