Il parcourt son Amérique, de bouges en clubs de strip-tease, pour jouer ses chansons. D'une ville à l'autre, à pied, en stop ou en bus, quand le concert de la veille lui a laissé quelques dollars, il traverse le pays et en transforme ces histoires d'amours déçues et de vies minables en bravoures blues et folk.
Fils spirituel de Tom Waits, il a préféré son âme à la gloire facile. Ami, si The one armed man passe par chez toi, prépare le whisky et les amplis, et laisse faire la magie."
