Among The Ruined

Formed in 2015 by Patrick ‘Paddy’ Creamer, Bailey Mackelden and Caleb ‘CJ’ Jones. During their days at Music Industry College, the three found a common ground, a shared passion and appreciation of music and the need to create it. It wasn’t long after that they enlisted Saul Creamer behind the drums to complete the line up you see today.

With all the heavy breakdowns of Metalcore blended with a Melodic Metal sound, Among The Ruined appeals to fans of A Day To Remember, I Prevail and Motionless in White.

Their first single, Don’t Hesitate was unleashed in 2018 along with a lyric video made by Split Mask Media. The single was quickly noticed by fans, media and radio, being played on every metallers radio station of choice, The Faction. Now they prepare to release their debut EP, ‘Despite All Odds’ into the world, set for release June 12, 2020. Over the course of a year, the guys did all the tracking and editing of the new EP themselves and worked with Cory Judd (A Night In Texas) on mixing and mastering the EP. The artwork was created by Soft Surrogate (who has worked with the likes of Memphis May Fire, Of Mice And Men, Mayday Parade and more) The first single, which is also the title track from the EP, is out May 6, along with a new music video created by Colin Jeffs and Daniel Ramsay at Ten Of Swords.
Originally based on the Gold Coast, the band have played many notable gigs around the Gold Coast and Brisbane including shows at Brisbane’s ‘Home Of The Heavy’ - Crowbar and Brightside, and festivals such as the annual Wallapalooza Festival and Outmoshyama Festival. They’ve played alongside some heavy hitters including Deadlights, Earthcaller and Awaken I Am. As soon as it’s safe to play live shows again, you can be sure Among The Ruined will well and truly get amongst it!
