About Bobby French
Robert Christopher Ashour (aka “DJ Bobby French”) was born and raised in the South of France. Upon his move to Los Angeles at the tender age of 9, he quickly became infatuated with the art of turntablism and would soon be spending countless hours in his room scratching and mixing, honing his skills for a future career. French attended Emerson College in Boston, where he hosted and DJed a radio show broadcast to over 350,000 listeners. French has played at Hyde, Playhouse, Greystone Manor, Colony, Trousdale Lounge, Drais, Viceroy, Hemmingway’s, Spare Room and countless other venues. His events have included the Jackass wrap party and the Victoria’s Secret party at Montmartre Lounge, and celebrity guests like Jonah Hill, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Molly Sims, Alessandra Ambrosia, Dustin Hoffman, Kate Hudson, Lindsay Lohan, and Eva Longoria have been known to dance his sounds. French has been featured in 944, Urb, and Flaunt and US weekly to name a few. He currently maintains residencies at Lexington Social House (Hollywood), Roxbury (Hollywood), Voyeur (West Hollywood), Standard (Hollywood), and Lincoln Room (San Diego). When he’s not in LA, he can be found spinning in Vegas, Hawaii, San Francisco, San Diego, Chicago, New York, or Boston. Influenced by The Beat Junkies, Cut Chemist, Q-Bert, and Jazzy-Jeff, French prides himself on flawless mixing and technical scratching, transcending genres with a seamless mix of hip-hop, rock, oldies, 80s, and electro. Los Angeles based DJ
