Jack Hopkins

Jack Hopkins is an acoustic singer-songwriter and humorist who has been writing and performing original material for over forty years. He performs in local coffeehouses, churches and other local venues. He also performs gospel presentations with Keith Rothra or oldies shows for older audiences in a ministry setting. He is an eclectic performer who does folk, rock, country, pop, Americana, blues and reggae, sometimes combining styles. Always adding his dry wit to songs and between songs, he also is known for doing vocal impressions of other artists from the 60s, 70s, 80s etc. He is also known to mix secular and sacred songs together, sometimes in medleys with a common spiritual message. "Christianized" songs are a specialty, where a secular song has the words changed to convert it to a spiritual context or some well-known songs may be rewritten with new words, called parodies. He tries to be versatile depending on the gig, often performing for free or for tips or donations, and enjoys contributing to local charities.
