Breath of Fire

Imagine taking greats like Sublimes reggae ska, Red Hot Chili Peppers old school funkiness, Bob Marley roots lovers roots and Jimi Hendrix timeless solos, putting them in a room together for a couple of months and force them to collaborate and out comes . From local house parties to concert venues, they consistently perform rocking the stage, connecting with the audience, spreading their positive lyrics and catchy hooks wherever they perform.

Jai (lead guitarist, singer) and Daniel (drums, vocals) two brothers raised in music along with their father, put together a home studio album "Living in Hawaii". Their title song had a hook to it, which put them on the map with local radio airplay. In 2005 they released an 8 song EP "Genuine" a mix of island reggae, rock and ska; which featured such local acts as JD and Papa T from Big Every Time in a collaboration titled “Sounds So.” It was recognized by the local radio stations and got regular airplay as well.
They made their full album in 2006 with the release of "Simmer Down" a simple yet catchy island reggae tune that also caught the ears of radio Djs. “Simmer Down” is sold online through www.musicthatpays.com, and at their shows. Tunes “Simmer Down”, “Genuine” and “Manifest Your Destiny” are on island 98.5 FM radio and online. “Simmer Down” has been very effective as an anti-bullying intervention in many schools, as well.
JAI has shared appearances on stage with SOJA at Aloha Tower, an inter-island tour with Pato Banton, Ras Danny & Black Uhuru at Pipeline, Natural Vibrations, Ooklah the Moc, BET, Niesian Nine, with John Cruz at Bay Fest & The Green at the Bob Marley Fest, Rebel Soljahs and more. They have also performed at private parties and events at Sunset on the Beach, the Hard Rock, the Shack, and the Waikiki Shell on the islands and B.B. Kings at Universal Studios on the west coast main land.
JAI was a finalist at the November 2010 “Mai Tai” Rumble and are frequently at Mai Tais both as an acoustic duo and as a band. In June 2011 they won the MMA Expo Battle of the Bands. They will tour Las Vegas, be recorded, and will be promoted by Hawaii Pacific Entertainment. There songs have been featured on Shaka Shakedown TV, and Olelos Star Tracks tv shows. They have currently released a new EP "I Got You" now available online on iTunes and more.

Jai Rodgers

The Lead vocalist & guitarist of Breath of Fire grew up in a musical family from the day he was born. Constantly immersed in a world of music and performing even as an early age, singing and performing with his sister on stage with his father’s band, jais love for music is the all time high. Jai released his first album at the young age of 17. With backgrounds in school band with trombone as well as piano, jais love for guitar started early on at the age of 13, now 13 yrs later he continues to write songs and create music to inspire him and others. His collaborative leadership, along with his improv style on stage, has been said by others to be a different exciting show every time, breaking the “set” monotony of others. His writing consists of love, unity, positive vibrations and higher consciousness.


Daniel Rodgers

Drummer and Vocalist, the youngest member of the band as well as brother is the backbone of Breath of Fire. Originally performed as keyboard player he found his true passion when he hit the drums. Maybe it’s his hyper attitude with a mix of passion in entertaining but Danny truly shines as both a drummer and singer songwriter. He has performed with such acts as John Cruz and Ras Danny.


As the main creators and producers of Breath of Fire jai and Danny have many various all-star players back them on stage. The drums, bass, guitar, as well as keyboards, not forgetting the live horn section creates a full, broad entertaining show music continuing to get the whole place skankin!
