Best Decemberists gig yet for me, helped by the wonderful venue and the fact that my lovely wife loved it too.

Best gig of the year from the best band (in my opinion). Gig was way too short for my liking (it wasn’t actually short at all, but no amount of time would have been enough), but every song was pure gold!

What a night was had at the O2 Academy last night when The Decemberists brought their indefinable brand of music to Bristol. The venue was packed to the rafters with one of the most diverse audiences I've been in, from fresh-faced teenagers to bald or grey-haired codgers, and an equal mix of men and women. The Decemberists have built up a strong and faithful fanbase over the last 18 years, and did not let them down. The band from Porland, Oregon is known for its research of the localities it plays. After almost 2 hours we all filed out with broad grins on our faces to the gentle strains of 'Goodnight Irene'. Pure class.

So good and such an awesome interactive portion at the end!! No spoilers but if you go you'll have an AMAZING time

Lucked into front row seats and the show was well worth the price. Colin, Jenny and the rest of the band were very engaging and the crowd responded. Severed, The Rake Song, The bagman’s gambit and Make You Better were all amazing. Mariners’s revenge was the perfect ending to a great show. Would love to hear more from some of their older songs but then again, I loved every song they played.

The Decemberists delivered! This is one of our favorites. They are fun!!! We are always blown away.
