About Dennis Taylor
Dennis Taylor was born to be a performer. Hailing from the Boston neighborhood of Charlestown, Dennis has been enchanting audiences since the tender age of 12.
Dennis’ talent and artistry are beyond his years. His passion for Classic Soul and R&B music oozes from every note he sings. Fans often feel transported back in time, watching an old soul perform with the wisdom and skill of a seasoned veteran. A self-taught musician, Dennis plays a variety of instruments, including piano and guitar.
Dennis' star began to truly shine when he had the honor of working with Grammy Award-winning producer Bobby Eli from 2012 to 2016. Eli, a founding member of Philadelphia's MFSB Orchestra, helped Dennis refine his skills and find his groove in the Soul/R&B realm. Dennis describes his time with Eli as a "master class in Soul," and this tutelage has helped him evolve into the sensational performer that he is today.
Over the years, Dennis has performed at some of the most prestigious venues across the country, including The Kimmel Center in Philadelphia and The TD Garden in Boston. However, it's his international fan base that has taken him to new heights, having performed in over 20 cities across Germany, as well as at The Cotswold Park Soul Weekender in the UK. He has opened up for Classic Soul legends such as The Stylistics, Tavares, Candi Staton, and Bloodstone, and even served as a background singer for the likes of Alyson Williams and Alexander O'Neal.
In 2017, Dennis became a member of the critically acclaimed Boston group, North Shore Acappella. Following the passing of longtime member and friend Paul Lopes, Dennis stepped up to carry on the group's legacy.
Dennis released his long-awaited debut album, "I Think We're Gonna Make It," which was entirely self-produced, on SoulTownie Records.
