About 胡彦斌

Shanghaiese R&B singer Anson Hu (Hu Yan Bin) was born on 4 July in 1983.

At 13 he began studying singing at a local performing arts school, and in 2002 his first album was released, making him the youngest mainland singer to release a mainstream album.

He's been compared with Taiwanese singer Jay Chou, but Hu hotly disputed this, pointing out that his musical style is different. Jay Chou's fans were vexed enough to throw accusations of plagiarism at him. He's released a song 'Want U Know' with his collaborators, Se7en and Liu xiang.

He's probably best known for his song 'Waiting for you', which is used as a theme of Chinese drama series, 'Love Contract'.
