About Brother Be

One sunny day in Canberra, a forgotten band practice lead to Mike (singer) arriving at Alan (guitar) and Lynette’s (bass) house whilst Sam (drums) helped them clean their garage. As musicians aren’t that great at cleaning, they decided to play music instead. What they thought would be a casual jam session developed into indie-folk band Brother Be. Armed with a mission to put a smile on your face, Brother Be’s music is a celebration of all good things in life, and you’re coming along for the ride. Traversing the worlds of folk, pop, funk and rock, the resulting sound is somewhere between Of Monsters and Men and Mumford and Sons. Their upbeat party anthems will have you putting aside your troubles and enjoying the brighter side of a rainy day. In concert, the connection between the members of Brother Be is obvious. It’s clear that you’re not simply watching a band banging out their songs, you’re enjoying the company of a group of long-time friends who regard themselves more as family than band members - mates who are hanging out making the music they love, eager to show you something they made up in their lounge room. Brother Be’s positive vibes have seen them play the Canberra Enlighten Festival, provide half-time entertainment at GIO Stadium twice, draw over 200 people to their debut EP launch, and share the stage with some of their favourite bands, including Abbe May, Ayla and Jakubi. The garage is still messy to this day. Debut EP Gone & Gone OUT NOW brotherbe.bandcamp.com soundcloud.com/brotherbemusic
