About Steven Lambke
An acclaimed songwriter, Steven Lambke's latest collection Volcano Volcano received an effusive review from Pitchfork, who called the album "a battle cry for romantic radicals". He is also well known as a member of the punk band Spider Bite, the leader of artist-run label You've Changed Records, and member of iconic Canadian indie-rock group Constantines.
Steven Lambke’s songs are an invitation, an exploration of potential, an opportunity for listening and thinking and relating that holds space for otherwise thinking and shared meaning-making. His songs are home to a cast of characters that provide the sustenance for this practice: high tides, worlds filled to the brim, full moons and shooting stars, sunsets, daybreaks and twilight, reconstituted truths and love anyway, sidewalk-crack flowers, sparks and moons in the ocean, a living, a singing anyway. It embodies a way of living that mines the everyday for surprise, tiny bursts of joy, and a dedicated practice of hope.
