About Kody Havoc

Dakota Lamar Hickam (born October 06, 1996), known professionally as Kody Havoc is an American singer and songwriter. Born Kansas City, Missouri and raise in Belton, Missouri, Havoc spent most of his childhood in Grandview, Missouri. He began writing music at the age of 15 mostly working with loops and free samples, but after a short while he taught himself how to play guitar, drums, and many more. His sound has been credited to influences such as Beck, Marilyn Manson, Paul McCartney, Elliot Smith and many more. Known for having a DIY or a lo-fi approach to recording his music. His albums range from an acoustic sound to a more melancholy pop style with tons of ambience. Havoc released his debut album, "Soap In My Eyes", on June 15th, 2014. “The first song that proves this is “A Pale White Love Song”. The song’s theme can be related to Chase Coy’s sound. Another original Havoc recorded is “It Was Fun While It Lasted”. The track defines his sound more than any of the other tracks. “Open Country Blues” has a guitar tune that sets the mood for the song. Havoc’s voice and the music collaborate perfectly.” - Umusicians June 30th, 2014 With three EP’s and two full length albums including the Space-themed concept album (“Future Noise” released in 2016), there really is no sign of him stopping anytime soon.
