PEEV

Born in the East of France, but resident further South in Lyon since 2004, Pierre Serafini has been immersed in underground music for the entirety of his adult life. First as guitarist in shoegaze and postpunk bands through his teenage years, then as experimental samplist Opti, as head of the Airflex Labs label from 2008-12, and most recently with his more technoid alter-ego PEEV. Pierre’s musicality and meticulous attention to detail have seen him forge alliances with many of the international post-dubstep generation passing through Lyon, as they played shows he promoted for his seminal residency at Le Transbordeur : Haste. Over more than a decade, he would share stages with the likes of Blawan, Tricky, Mount Kimbie, Shackleton, Andy Stott, Plaid, Hodge, Lee Gamble, Shifted, Pearson Sound, Objekt, Call Super, Joy O, Julio Bashmore, Beneath, Leif, Loefah, Untold, Maya Jane Coles, Phon.O, Hatcha, Lone, Filastine, High Tone, Venetian Snares, Boxcutter and many more. In 2015, Serafini released the highly anticipated “Delia” EP as the first title on Oxyd’s new label Intramuros and moved to Paris to become CTO of the freshly relaunched France’s leading electronic music magazine, Trax. The fine blend of IDM, Techno and UK Bass as well as the precision laying in his production as PEEV make him one of the most exciting and contemporary artists in the bubbling French scene. He now turns his focus to music; we can expect to hear a lot more from him in the year to come.
