About De Saloon

In 1999, two years after being formed in Concepción (a city that has seen the birth of many other successful Chilean bands like Los Tres, Los Bunkers), the band moves to Santiago (Chile's capital) motivated by the success in radio stations of their first demo, Esfumar. With the release of their second song, Brígida, the band composed by Ricardo Barrenechea (drums), Jean Pierre Duhart (vocals, guitar) and Roberto Arancibia (bass) established itself as a Chilean-rock promise.

2003 saw the release of their eponymous first album, whose single Té quickly became one of the most popular songs in radio stations nation-wide.

The following year the band got a nomination for Best New Band in the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America as they were releasing their second album, Morder.

The band has proven to be comfortable with an ample set of musical genres, having successfully composed ballads (Resistiré más que dos), power rock tunes (Morder) and at least one pop sounding single (Quiero hacerte feliz).

The band is still active, having released their third album, Abrázame, in 2006.
