About Orange
Formed in Los Angeles by Zak Glosserman (drums) and British-born Joe Dexter (vocals, bass) - both still in their early teens at the time - ORANGE effortlessly blend punk-rock sensibilities with infectious pop melodies, a fusion that caught the attention of Rancid front-man
Tim Armstrong, who quickly snapped the band up to his influential Hellcat Records label. Two albums, “Welcome To The World Of…” and “Escape From LA” followed, introducing ORANGE to an appreciative punk-rock community and earning the band support slots on tours with punk heavy hitters including UK Subs, The Misfits and The Adicts and Rancid. Orange also played three years on the legendary Vans Warped Tour throughout America.
The Gavin MacKillop (Sugarcult, MXPX, PIL) -produced “Phoenix” album followed and saw the band take a step further into the pop-punk arena, a genre that clearly suits their optimistic lyrics, anthemic choruses and killer hooks. The addition of new band members Perry Ladish and Alec Gomez has allowed them to broaden their influences and stretch their musical ability to create music that has instant appeal without losing any of its punk edge. In fact, Gomez has engineered some hit albums from a diverse array of artists including Oasis, Hole and LCD Soundsystem. Their second single from “Phoenix”, “Everything I Need” was seen on rotation in the UK on Scuzz TV.
Following the band’s next hit single “Revolution”, which is the theme to the Cartoon Network series “Generation Rex” and its accompanying video game, the band toured the UK with Zebrahead and MC Lars, followed by more UK runs with bands such as Spunge, Bowling For Soup and Reel Big Fish over the following 2 years. The incredible audience response and rapidly growing fan base prompted the band to return to Britain in Summer 2012 for another extensive headlining tour, which once again showcased their boundless energy, raw talent and effortless connection with their audiences who regularly turn up to their gigs dressed from head to toe in orange and are seen constantly sporting the bands signature hand gesture “The Orange Salute” as well as chanting their own tagline "Viva La Orange".
Orange’s latest self release, the “Dead Sexy” EP, which includes their latest single “Resist” was produced by Grammy award winning producer Ryan Hewitt (Blink 182, Sum 41, Red Hot Chilli Peppers) and will be followed by a full-length studio album later in the year which will also be produced by Ryan Hewitt and will feature tracks co-written by Shawn Harris (The Matches), Jaret Reddick (Bowling For Soup) and Tim Pagnotta (Sugarcult). Joe has also signed a major music publishing deal with Benair-Churchill Publishing and is in the process of writing songs for the upcoming installment of the Twilight movie franchise as well as numerous US commercials. The rest of 2012 and 2013 will see Orange doing what they do best, touring and bringing the thunder to cities across the world.
With an all new line up and come-back tour and single "Late Nights and Early Mornings" out now Orange is set to do what they do best. Hit the road and melt faces. The future is bright, the future is Orange.
