About pelgrim

Tilburg, the Netherlands based PELGRIM combines the heavy vocals and pounding rhythms of the djent and metalcore world with the technicality and creativity of the progressive world, resulting in a refreshing own sound. With an outstanding and energetic live performance, their goal is to make musically interesting music while still writing great songs that can be enjoyed by a broad audience. Having not only interests in the metal genre, but also in a wide range of other music like: electronic, jazz, classical music and various ethnical styles, their music results in a wide sound, enjoyable for almost every metal fan.

PELGRIM's first release, a self titled EP in September 2013, received an incredible amount of positive feedback. Metal From NL described their sound as follows: 'Technical but groovy .. Complicated music? Absolutely. Difficult to listen? Absolutely not!'. Pigsqueels and Breakdowns rated their EP a 4,5/5: 'You ever listen to an album that is too good to put into words? Yeah, this is what this EP is to me’. Since their self titled EP, PELGRIM played countless of shows all over Europe with bands like: August Burns Red, Monuments, Thy Art Is Murder & Textures.

After a few setbacks, a change in members and a lot of hard work, PELGRIM released their debut full length album ‘EPHEMERA’ in February 2016. This long awaited album not only shows their musical ability’s, but also how much the band has grown since their latest release. The eight-tracked-counting release was gratefully received by the metal community. Metaltrenches.com wrote: ‘Not content to simply ape what has already been done .. they will have a whole lot more to offer the entire metal genre. ‘, while Progmetalzone.com wrote: ‘This unreal debut from this Dutch band will give their countrymen Textures a run for their money .. You will be hearing a lot more about this band very soon’.
