An amazing night of drugged out magic late in the game from the one and only Spiritualized. My only complaint was that one guitar player soloing over everyone and everything. I didn't hate it, but it could have been toned down some. Other than that, it was a perfect evening, especially that my chosen place in front of the stage gave me a perfect view of Jason Pierce.

Stunningly didn’t suck (philly venues tend to just have local yokels at the sound boards). Gorgeously loud and didn’t waste time with stage banter and made my day. I have seen J Spaceman a few times way way way back and this was the best time yet and I sorta was stunned and speechless by usual Come Together was this time as closer. Professional as always. Light show were somehow not terrible and was all Spiritualizing I guess.

Excellent set. Not surprisingly, they pulled a lot from the most recent albums, but they really brought some great energy to those songs. Some of the "random noise" bits felt a bit performative, like they were just filling space before transitioning to the next portion of a song, but it was still a powerful sound. The band was definitely signaling the changes pretty obviously to each other, but it helped them all stay on the same page. And I give a lot of credit to the sound engineer for letting Jason's thin voice shine through above the din.
Can't wait to see them again.
