Spiritualized

An amazing night of drugged out magic late in the game from the one and only Spiritualized. My only complaint was that one guitar player soloing over everyone and everything. I didn't hate it, but it could have been toned down some. Other than that, it was a perfect evening, especially that my chosen place in front of the stage gave me a perfect view of Jason Pierce.

Stunningly didn’t suck (philly venues tend to just have local yokels at the sound boards). Gorgeously loud and didn’t waste time with stage banter and made my day. I have seen J Spaceman a few times way way way back and this was the best time yet and I sorta was stunned and speechless by usual Come Together was this time as closer. Professional as always. Light show were somehow not terrible and was all Spiritualizing I guess.

Excellent set. Not surprisingly, they pulled a lot from the most recent albums, but they really brought some great energy to those songs. Some of the "random noise" bits felt a bit performative, like they were just filling space before transitioning to the next portion of a song, but it was still a powerful sound. The band was definitely signaling the changes pretty obviously to each other, but it helped them all stay on the same page. And I give a lot of credit to the sound engineer for letting Jason's thin voice shine through above the din. Can't wait to see them again.

The whole of Jason’s interaction with the crown was a brief “Thank you” at the end, otherwise he just sat sideways to the crowd. First time seeing them, so I dunno… but the music was dope, so he’s still our man.

Great venue, not been there before. Good selection of craft ales. Great acoustics. Spiritualized were fantastic. 17 songs from 7 albums played in just over 2 hours. Very loud.

Fantastic nearly 3 hour show. J looked slow and unsteady coming onto the stage but that belied his musical energy. Still one of the better live acts going. I was heartbroken to see that it didn't sell out.

No opening act, no music playing in the venue before they came on staged. Jason looks like he is not doing very well judging by the way he walked slowly onto the stage to his chair. There was almost no crowd interaction at all other than a wave or two and a “Thank You” at the end. The band is set up to face each other rather than the audience. It sets the tone that you are there to watch them play not for them to play for you (and that’s not a bad thing). The lights were great except for the few times when they blinded the audience with them for what seemed like a few minutes. The set list is identical to what they have been playing at other shows. Laser Guided Melodies is my favorite release, so, I loved “Shine A Light” but was wishing for more. The show was a very good representation of Spiritualized .. melodic plus mayhem. I loved seeing them and would recommend everyone who likes the go and to take someone who has never heard them along. A truly unique experience.

Fucking amazing concert. Even got to meet Jason himself. He was a joy to talk to. Highly recommend everyone go see them.

Jason s a musical legend on earth, highly recommended if you are into the band, course I know obvious right, but also if you dig psychedelic noise avante garde tunes, freak out medleys and gospel backing vocals, a must for music lovers. Cheers and enjoy.

Lovely and low key. The Fillmore with all its crystal chandeliers and soaring space filled with sparkly lights and hypnotic vibrations. I felt like I should dance but all I could do with Spiritualized is be still while while my mind gets tumbled in the waves of sound.

Really good ! I have seen spiritualized maybe 7 times over the last 15 years and this was a great gig ! Probably the first time I’ve seen them sober but nevertheless they missed Sean cook I think but that’s just my opinion

Great show - would have preferred more oldies but J began with two so no complaints. Band and vocalists were so good. J seemed frail but he delivered! Grateful for a DC stop on the tour.

Got there early and was able to get front row seats! Spiritualized rocked and the sound system had a really good mix... excellent show!

Like going to church in heaven if it was a rock n roll church and the preacher was Lou Reed. Like Phil Spector’s wall of sound. Just enveloped by the music.

Superb. Jason is a pro at this point. The musicians are top notch. The formula is perfect. Like a perfect prescription.

The concert itself was great. Venue was a bit weird because the sitting area was closer to the stage than standing which doesn't make a lot of sense especially for a shoegaze/space rock concert.

Both guest The Novembers and headliner Spiritualized were great! Sound was very good and so were d lighting effect. All in was it was a great gig.

They have entirely their own brand of music and they didn’t disappoint. Large enthusiastic crowd on a Sunday night. Cabaret Sauvage is a top location.

Absolutely phenomenal, Jason & co never cease to amaze!! Fantastic choir and orchestra, definitely right up there with one of my most memorable gigs!!

What a powerful sound! These guys can take it from sweet sweet whisper to a clamorous crescendo and we, the audience, followed each sweet note.
