Doctor Wu was formed in 2000 with the intent of performing spot-on recreations of Steely Dan's hits and well-known album cuts. We are an 11-piece LA-based band comprised of 3 background vocalists, 4 rhythm, 4 horns, fronted by lead singer Anthony Egan. Doctor Wu shows consist of fan-favorite Steely Dan blockbuster hits, their groovy lyric-driven songs, as well as full album shows (Royal Scam, Aja, Gaucho, The Nightfly) Every song is handled with wicked attention to detail - from the rich vocal harmonies, tasty jazz-rock rhythm section and searing guitar leads plus the studio-tight Malibu Horns - creating the textures and authenticity of Steely Dan’s eclectic one-of-a-kind music. Members of Doctor Wu have been featured on top selling recordings and on stages worldwide.
