Wow, what a band and venue. They sound so good live and are so tight. I’ve followed Tunng since 2005 but never seen them live. Quite an emotional experience thank you 😉😜

I first discovered Tunng at Cambridge Folk Festival in 2008 and I've been watching and collecting their songs and records ever since! This is the second time I've seen Tunng at the Trades Club and the fourth time I've seen them live. This was a fabulous live set with songs stretching back over their 20 year history and it was a joy to hear them again...and the new songs of the newest album were some of the best they've done in that 20 years. Please keep on making great music.

About Tunng
Tunng are an experimental folk band from the United Kingdom. They are often associated with the folktronica genre due to the electronic influences evident in some of their work. The band consists of Mike Lindsay, Sam Genders, Becky Jacobs, Phil Winter, Ashley Bates and Martin Smith
Tunng started when Sam Genders met Mike Lindsey in the latter's studio in a Soho basement below a clothes shop. Genders had used to do pub gigs as a sort of singer/songwriter, whereas Lindsay had been playing about with studio tech, making electronica and trying to make a living producing advert music. They both found that Lindsay's distinctive way with twinkling sounds and tight production enhanced the folky songs they were both writing no end, and a signature sound developed.
Tunng's first album 'Mother's Daughter And Other Songs' was released by Static Caravan in 2005. But since Genders made at first the choice not to play live, Lindsay found Becky Jacobs and Ashley Bates to do his vocals at gigs. Over time Phil Winter and Martin Smith became part of the band in one way or another as well and have all contributed more to recordings as time passed: first on 'Comments Of The Inner Chorus' (2006), but far more so on 'Good Arrows' (2007).
