Small set up, but appropriate for the venue. 11 people plus Yanni. 8 keyboards & a grand piano for Yanni. 6 other keyboards for a second keyboardist. 2 cellos, 2 violins, a trumpet, a trombone, drumset & a secondary percussion set. By Yanni standards, this is small, but there was NO disappointment in the sound or show. He also promised an annual visit to Indy for the foreseeable future. We'll be back if he comes back!!
Yanni. He may be the butt of many “new-age” music persecutors, but the man is a composer with a legacy of complex music performed with the help of some of the finest musicians in the world. Last night at the Smart Center in Sugar Land, TX, his arrangements brought goosebumps, tears, & ovations for the almost 3 hour show.
