Maria Peszek

Born in 1973 in Wrocław. Daughter of a well known actor. Having finished acting school she started performing. So did her brother Błażej.

Her adventure with music began with the play Muzyka ze słowami (Music With Words) where her acting was accompanied with music composed by Polish independent artist Wojciech Waglewski. In 2005 this resulted in Miasto mania, with music by Wojciech Waglewski and his sons Fisz and Emade (also well known for their ambient hip hop albums). What had been meant to be an underground project became an absolute hit of the season that everyone talked about. Something new, awaited & very appreciated in the Polish scene. Music up to date with the newest trends yet preserving the greatest rock traditions combined with poetic lyrics. But it is a very special, vulgar but subtle, kind of poetry. All this playing with words became Maria's characteristic.

So, having released only one album she became almost a legend. Then again with all those people around her you could only expect the best!

The album itself is supposed to tell a story about a city girl living on a rooftop of a skyscraper. She's watching people and planes go by and you can hear all the city sounds on the record.

The only question left is: will this project be continued as it was ment to be a one time thing?
