About Places Unknown

These two woodknees named Zuheer and Saygin were playing videogames in Zuheer's basement, when one day Zuheer asked Saygin if he wanted to make a band. He said sure. After many conflicts of who is better than who on guitar, Zuheer finally accepted that Saygin was getting better than him on guitar because he was practicing. In their early days, the band had been on and off several times because they just couldn't find a decent drummer. First, they got this pleb named Refat Ahsan. The addiction to video games that they had caused them to name their band n00b n0 m0r3. But due to the lack of practice, they could no longer continue being a band. Then, Saygin continued on his music endeavors and gave himself the nickname "Sage", so that people could have no trouble pronunciating his name, while Zuheer sat in his basement and played guitar over his XBOX mic, and unfortunately Refat ended up selling his drum set. After that disaster and several months later, Sage started interacting with more musicians in the area. Soon after that, he joined a band called The Knew Colour with his friend Jake Hitzges. When that project failed, Jake asked him to join his metal band called Create The Creator as a bass player. He gladly took the offer and started getting into more complex music. Practicing with Create The Creator really pumped Sage up, because it was the first time that he was going to perform in the Youthfest Battle of the Bands. Unfortunately, Create The Creator didn't win and they didnt practice after that so Sage decided to take a break for the summer. On the other hand, Zuheer was still in his basement playing XBOX and playing music over his mic. People told him that he had a great voice, and that's what made him wanna make a band. After Sage telling him to shut up over the mic MANY times, he didnt and he annoyed the shit out of him. But Sage knew he was messing with him. He practiced with Sage acoustically in his basement because Sage was too lazy to carry his amp and his guitar to his house and back. Him and Sage's first performance was at an open mic at the Loudoun County Public Library. They performed "Northern Downpour" by Panic! At The Disco. Unfortunately, he didnt sing the song but it was still the beginning of Zuheer's band endeavors. Like Sage, he decided to take a break for the summer as well. Their break went superb, and they came back more enthusiastic than ever. They still practiced a lot during the week. A couple of months later, Zuheer and Sage met a guy named Connor on XBOX who was a friend of a friend of theirs. His gamertag was Places Unknown. Since the duo were trying to come up with a band name for their band for a long time, they decided that Places Unknown was a keeper. Now the only thing they needed was a good drummer and they were set. Meanwhile, Sage's relationships/ relationship problems inspired him to write meaningful songs and Zuheer also wrote a couple of good songs, now they were really anxious to get a drummer. They payed close attention to see if there were any rising freshman in their school that was a drummer, and sure enough there was. Shortly after their getting their name, Sage and Zuheer asked Joey Burcham to be the drummer of Places Unknown. After he said yes, they immediately signed up for the Youthfest Battle of the Bands. The funny part was that they had no idea if Joe was a good drummer, but it was a risk they were willing to take. Fortunately enough, Joe turned out to be a great drummer. They had no bassist, but thanks to their friend Alex Jongbloed filling in, they were able to compete in the Battle of the Bands. Unfortunately, they didnt win the battle, but the band was asked to play shows later on in the year. Soon after the battle, Sage decided to switch to playing bass since he played bass in another band, called The Scribbles,. Joe was asked to join The Knew Colour as a drummer, and Zuheer just stuck with this band.
