The Reminiscence

The Reminiscence is a 4-piece Los Angeles based Indie-Rock band that combine vintage ideals with modern songwriting techniques. They combine the sincerity and emotional dexterity of 80’s british-pop music (i.e. The Smiths, the Cure, The “The” bands, etc.) with the layering techniques and sense of melancholy associated with the 90’s shoegaze scene (i.e. My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Ride, etc.) to invoke a truly cathartic listening experience. Their members come from bands spreading across a multitude of genres (punk, psychobilly, metal, singer-songwriter, etc.) to create a truly unique sonic perspective. They have just finished recording their debut EP which takes the story line of a married couple and the trials and tribulations associated with their demise. From the overwhelming sense of abandonment and alienation within “SRO” to the vindication and self-refinement found within “Sleepwalking” the listener begins to truly feel as though they have captured the essence of what it is that their relationship was lacking. This is culminated both by the emotional validation found within “Torrid Path” and the sorrow displayed within “My Morbid Journey.” In addition, on the horizon will be a full length that takes both the story line along with their songwriting capabilities to the next level.
