About Mara Connor
LA native Mara Connor has a sound all her own that brings together her Southern California roots, ties to New York and Nashville, and classic singer/songwriter influences. Her debut EP “No Fun” was lauded by Rolling Stone, the Chicago Tribune and American Songwriter. The EP’s title track was named Buzzbands’ “No. 1 Favorite Song of the Year.” Her duet “Someone New” with Langhorne Slim debuted via Consequence of Sound, was named one of Rolling Stone’s “Best Country and Americana Songs to Hear Now,” KCRW’s “Top Tune of the Day” and has racked up over 800k Spotify streams. At her SXSW debut she was called one of the "12 best up-and-coming artists at SXSW" by the Chicago Tribune.
"Southern California singer-songwriter Mara Connor pays tribute to her roots with her delightfully bright debut single, 'No Fun.' Connor recorded the track in Nashville, and tinges of country blend seamlessly with Sixties and Seventies beach-pop here. It’s a promising sign for this newcomer, and all that retro flavor never stops this song from sounding like right now."
