About Eastern Mountain Time
Eastern Mountain Time is sort of a country band based out of Burlington, Vermont. Originally intended to be the moniker under which songwriter Sean Hood (Sean Hood & the Great Outdoors, Hello Shark) would perform solo shows and release folk albums, it wasn’t long before Eastern Mountain Time became a kind of steady, four-piece almost rock band. Only one record, 2013’s Really Comin’ Down, was released before bassist Sam Bevet (Little Slugger, Fridge & the Spins), drummer Alex Decato (Hello Shark), and guitarist Henry Webb (Drawing, Gloaming) began joining Hood on stage for shows regularly. In the spring of 2014 Eastern Mountain Time spent 48 hours in Burlington’s Park Hill Studio recording their first full-length record as a band, done primarily live in the studio with minimal overdubs and/or fussing. The result is a raw, sometimes frenetic and sometimes stable interpretation of Eastern Mountain Time’s live show.
After the release and half-assed promotion of 2015's Eastern Mountain Time the band went through a number of line-up changes, leading some to believe that Hood might be a difficult collaborator. That assumption probably isnt' too far fetched, but it still hurts. Anyway, Eastern Mountain Time's current line-up consists of guitarist Henry Webb (He stayed!), drummer Danny LeFrancois (The Parts, Great Western), and bassist Jason Pappas (The Parts, Lake Superior). This version of Eastern Mountain Time has been hard at work on an almost entirely new catalog of songs and is currently gearing up to road-test the new material (just Vermont roads, for now).
