About Salvation Bill

The new album 'fat fate's formal handshake' out now! When you hear the phrase ‘singer-songwriter’, the part of your brain which enjoys music dies. But when you hear Salvation Bill your brain will probably catch on fire. It’s not easy to start a fire inside, or on a brain but Salvation Bill will try. His song themes tend to draw inspiration from real life and could include: the constant threat of death, money problems, tales of woe and some occasional stirred in schmaltz. He, or ‘it’ is a project by Ollie Thomas; he plays on his own; he plays with other people. Nothing is concrete in life (apart from most buildings) and he imagines playing in a band could be fun and will soon hold auditions. Salvation Bill has played in many venues with many great bands. A spot at Truck Festival. Supporting Gaz Combes (Supergrass) . Colin Greenwood of Radiohead, when curating a night of bands for ‘independent venue week’, asked Salvation Bill to play and gave many encouraging comments, mainly about Bill’s fantastic Hawaiian shirt. Here are some very nice things said about Salvation Bill: “Ollie Thomas is definitely up there with the best song-writers this city has produced in the past five years.” One Note Forever on Salvation Bill ‘there’s a guy in Salvation Bill who has the most perfect voice. He’s been in so many different bands and they’ve all had this brilliant sound because of his voice, he’s called Ollie Thomas. I’d say Salvation Bill are on top of my recommendations for this year, Oli Steadman from ‘Stornoway’. https://soundcloud.com/salvation-bill
