Truth & I

Hi there! We are Truth & I; a married indie-folk duo based in New York. My name is Alethea (which in Greek means 'Truth') and my taller half is Jordan ('I'). Jordan and I have always had a passion for music, celebrating the human experience, creating beautiful things and performing.

Although we grew up an hour from each other in Northeast Ohio, we didn't meet until attending college in Nyack, NY, while pursuing Vocal Performance majors. When we began collaborating in 2011, we wrote a flood of material. In 2014, we were married. Continuing pursuit of classical training, we received our M.A.s in Vocal Performance in 2017 from Montclair State University.

Our music is known for our strong vocal lines, tight harmonies, and personal lyrics. We also accompany ourselves with whatever we can get away with! —banjo, guitar, piano, kazoo, foot tambourine, fiddle, harmonica, etc.

We have four recorded releases; full-length album, Floorboards (2013), single release, “Passing the Time” (2019) the EP, This is Living (2020) and the single cover “God Bless America” (2020). A new full length album will be released forthcoming, entitled, Sacred. Stay tuned!
