The Dead South

This place was mostly ALL standing room only!! Combined with the groups starting one hour late, it was four hours of absolute TORTURE for my wife and myself!! A limited amount of Ada seating being “taken” by scammers, the asshats who abuse handicap spaces,when they have no need or disability , we were lucky to find a spoton a railing, and remained rooted to that spot in physical agony. Couldn’t stay for the Dead South’s encore songs—-we had to limp out in pain!! This is a horrible venue,,unless you pony up the dough for a sit down upper balcony. I don’t care who ,in the future plays there,,we won’t EVER go to the Sylvee again!!! The parking ramp next door was conveniently next door, had it been any further, we’d have collapsed with leg stiffness!! Both of us. No kidding. Oh yes, they skin you alive on the drink prices. One can of hard seltzer-$15. Aacck! I had one. I’m 74 years old, my wife 64, and I am still sore a week later, limping like I never did in my life. Never again!! As for the Dead south, yes, they are all they’ve ever been, very polished, and entertaining.

The band was amazing. I would have appreciated more details about the seating arrangement at the venue. The seating chart doesn't make clear that the front row will be sitting right behind the standing room, so I if I would have known, I would have booked a seat further up to be elevated over the standing crowd. I was very disappointed about this.

Band was great as always. A few technical glitches, but band worked through it. Caelum did wonderful job standing in for Colton. My only complaint was annoying people talking loud enough you could hear their conversation over the band. Of the 5 of us that attended, we all agree band great, patrons not so much.

The band is fantastic. The Dead South band put on an outstanding show and one of the few bands that sounds as good live and does their studio albums. Also, the band appeared to enjoy performing for us. The Revolution Center was very hot temperature wise. I do not believe that their AC was working but the staff was constantly giving out bottles of water to the crowd free. This was great customer service and was thought overall the event staff was very good. The bar prices were higher than what I pay in Orlando FL at House of Blues or Hard Rock.

The Guys put on the absolute BEST show! 10/10. Saw them in Austin on a Wednesday, was so good we drove to Houston 3 days later to see them again!! No Regrets ! You have to see them! If you can’t at least listen to their songs on Spotify. You will not be disappointed!!

Excellent! A great time. The Bands touring with TDS were so unique and FUN throughout. Of course TDS was wildly welcomed and deserved / delivered several call backs. A really solid, satisfying event. Go see ‘em wherever you can, but The Eastern is a good venue. This was our first time there, but We’ll be back.

Firstly, the venue. This was my first time in Edinburgh's Usher Hall. Apparently it holds about 2500 and it was full for this gig. I was in the Upper Circle - try to avoid if at all possible! The seats are small, hard and with very little leg room. In fact, I was so cramped and sore that my legs gave way when standing! These seats would be better used as torture devices. Anyway, all I can say about The Dead South is that it was the best concert I've ever been to! For me this tops my favourite group (Eagles), David Bowie, The Who, The Rolling Stones, just simply every gig I've been to. Maybe it was the venue but hey, the group was absolutely spot on. A duo from Australia opened with a few pretty decent tunes (sorry but I just can't remember their names! Embarrassing as they were pretty good). They really warmed the room up well for the main act. Well, the audience really got into The Dead South's stuff straight from the off. The crowd was singing, clapping, having a rare old time. Every song was greeted with a massive cheer. They played a few songs from their new album, but I think the best reaction came from some of their older songs, in particular 'In Hell I'll Be In Good Company' 'Black Lung' and 'Bastard Son'. They did a two song encore. The second of these was 'Banjo Odyssey' and the roar from the audience nearly lifted the roof off! I will definitely have to see The Dead South again. Once is just not enough!

This was my 14-year-old daughter's first concert. The venue blew our minds- the Mothership is incredible! It's completely remote and an awe-inspiring stage. The Dead South was stellar! The sound and the dark backdrop of the open sky and the concert lights were amazing. The crowd was an excellent mix of every walk and will be a concert we will remember forever. Can't say enough in recommending The Dead South live. They have excellent showmanship. LOVED IT!

I had a great time at the show. The only thing that kept me from giving the show 5 stars is that they played zero songs off of the "Easy Listening for Jerks Volumes 1 & 2." I would have thought that they would have, at least, played "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" since the show was at the Ryman and that is an iconic song.

Great show, don't think the band realised how popular their music is down under. Shows in Australia and New Zealand sold out!!!!!! The venue did their best to make the environment welcoming. The opening act was good, The Dead South are improving with time, great music and a great group of men who love to share their music with the world.

Fantastic. Dead South's first Australian tour. So pleased we were able to go. Travelled all the way from Melbourne to see them play as they were sold out at home. Venue was packed. Group were amazing. Was like a large song along for much of it. What energetic and polished performers. It was such a good night. Best live music act I have seen in a very long time.

So as someone that is generally working at gigs as the public safety and risk manager it was an absolute awesome experience to see the Dead South live at the Fortitude Valley Music Hall. The venue was the absolute perfect place to see a band that I have been following for years. It was a novel change to be out in the crowd and seeing the enthusiasm of each an every person in the room, it was a great gig and I had the best time

Was so exciting to see the Dead South play in Sydney at the Enmore. Like the band I have never been to the Enmore before. The atmosphere was amazing. Friendly people and staff. Everyone respected each other. Managed to get front row and even one of the people moved so I could see the band up close.

The Dead South were great as usual. And their opener, Benjamin Dakota Rogers, proved for me once again… always show up for the opening act. HISTORY is a little bit of an odd shape and vertically challenged people like me would benefit from Danforth Music Hall - style sloped floors. But the sound was good and that’s what matters most.

I never expected to have such fun at a bluegrass concert but I had an amazing time! Tejon and Rev. Peyton's Big Damn Band were also so fun to experience and everyone there was so nice and playful. If you're ever wondering if a concert is actually worth going to, this one totally is. I'm definitely going to another one if they come back to Ohio.

These guys are fantastic live, they are taut, professional and great great fun. The music is so infectious and joyous and they give it their all. They take the audience with them and interact well - and get such enthusiasm back. The light show was also great and their 4 guys in a row set up is simple but brings out the joy of a band playing great songs in unison. The venue is a good size, the bar too and friendly. A great show all around.

Still buzzing 3 days later! These boys don’t disappoint! The crowd was amazing and the love for The Dead South was overflowing! Blue Trash Cousins are the best! The venue was perfect, the staff really polite and friendly. The drinks are a little pricey but even that didn’t dampen the mood! Can’t wait now for The Blackdeer Festival!

Great show by all! We've seen Dead South a few times over the years and we've enjoyed seeing the progression of their live sets. The Legendary Shack Shakers were a highlight of the night! Great performance! I can't remember the name of the first act, but he gave a great closing number, acoustically. Fun night! *But security there was sub standard, and needs to be addressed for future gigs. Just because you are old enough to hold a radio doesn't mean that you should be in charge of security. Piss poor supervision and enforcement!!*

First time seeing the band as missed out on tickets from their tour last year. Been completely in love with this band since I first heard them. And live they are phenomenal... was so great I bought tickets to their Birmingham show too! Been bought up with my dad playing the banjo and I played the cello ... this music just makes me happy 😁

The performance was amazing!! The venue was a bit over sold & crowded as hell, some people were there to just get drunk so the noise level of the crowd was quite annoying & disrespectful to the bands in my opinion. Could barely hear the first opening act because of it & it’s a shame, because Del Suelo is awesome too! Whiskey shivers rocked hard, and TDS brought it all to stage and hung it out to dry regardless of those drunks who will not remember this epic show...
