The Dead South

Best Live band I've been to in the last few years. They have became one of my favorites and I'm seen them 4 times in the last 5 years. Friday after their set (they should gotten to play longer) Scott Pringle came out of their bus and saw my 10 year old son with the Blue Ox set list in his hand and eyes as big as the moon, he walked over and asked how we were, signed the booklette and got Nates signature back in the camper. Made his weekend. He was so proud that we couldnt use it to look at the artest line up on Saturday becuase he was saving it.

Really great show! The Dead South was really interactive with the crowd. And, the set design was astounding! The lights were a visual delight! And the sound was top tier. The show got cut a little early as the smoke alarm had gone off and the crowd had to be ushered out. Turns out it was just an issue with the hazer/fog effects (according to The Lincoln's Facebook post). Fortunately, it wasn't anything serious!

The Dead South delivered an outstanding performance once they finally made it on stage — they were easily the highlight of the night. However, the event organisation left a lot to be desired. Communication around the schedule was poor, with no clear updates about delays or start times. The long wait before any act appeared made the experience less enjoyable. Unfortunately, the supporting act also fell a bit flat and didn’t add much to the overall atmosphere. Overall: Brilliant headline performance, but the event would benefit from better communication, smoother scheduling, and a better support act.

At 76 years young, I loved it, but, the trains were annoying. Couldn't stand for all that time, so we, my sister and I, sat in the ADA seating....Her new phone caught the acts, my older Samsung could not hold a candle to it. We both had a great time, but, bemoaned the fact that we couldn't get closer to the cello... a country girl.

Fantastic. Dead South's first Australian tour. So pleased we were able to go. Travelled all the way from Melbourne to see them play as they were sold out at home. Venue was packed. Group were amazing. Was like a large song along for much of it. What energetic and polished performers. It was such a good night. Best live music act I have seen in a very long time.

I had a great time at the show. The only thing that kept me from giving the show 5 stars is that they played zero songs off of the "Easy Listening for Jerks Volumes 1 & 2." I would have thought that they would have, at least, played "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" since the show was at the Ryman and that is an iconic song.

The Dead South last night was utterly amazing!!! I had seen them at the Opry last fall but they only performed 15 min so seeing the full set last night was perfection! They played extra long since they had the day off today. The experience of the caves was awesome. The sound is extraordinary. Sunny War was the opener and she was soulful and moody at the same time. Can't wait for my next TDS show!!

The Dead South was excellent! The opener Sunny War was great, too! I was extremely happy with the performers. As far as the Refinery, don’t waste your money on the VIP ticket. We got there 10 minutes after the first band started and all of the seats were already taken. The weather was great luckily because there is no cover for the audience if it is raining.

The band is fantastic. The Dead South band put on an outstanding show and one of the few bands that sounds as good live and does their studio albums. Also, the band appeared to enjoy performing for us. The Revolution Center was very hot temperature wise. I do not believe that their AC was working but the staff was constantly giving out bottles of water to the crowd free. This was great customer service and was thought overall the event staff was very good. The bar prices were higher than what I pay in Orlando FL at House of Blues or Hard Rock.

Firstly, the venue. This was my first time in Edinburgh's Usher Hall. Apparently it holds about 2500 and it was full for this gig. I was in the Upper Circle - try to avoid if at all possible! The seats are small, hard and with very little leg room. In fact, I was so cramped and sore that my legs gave way when standing! These seats would be better used as torture devices. Anyway, all I can say about The Dead South is that it was the best concert I've ever been to! For me this tops my favourite group (Eagles), David Bowie, The Who, The Rolling Stones, just simply every gig I've been to. Maybe it was the venue but hey, the group was absolutely spot on. A duo from Australia opened with a few pretty decent tunes (sorry but I just can't remember their names! Embarrassing as they were pretty good). They really warmed the room up well for the main act. Well, the audience really got into The Dead South's stuff straight from the off. The crowd was singing, clapping, having a rare old time. Every song was greeted with a massive cheer. They played a few songs from their new album, but I think the best reaction came from some of their older songs, in particular 'In Hell I'll Be In Good Company' 'Black Lung' and 'B*****d Son'. They did a two song encore. The second of these was 'Banjo Odyssey' and the roar from the audience nearly lifted the roof off! I will definitely have to see The Dead South again. Once is just not enough!

This was my 14-year-old daughter's first concert. The venue blew our minds- the Mothership is incredible! It's completely remote and an awe-inspiring stage. The Dead South was stellar! The sound and the dark backdrop of the open sky and the concert lights were amazing. The crowd was an excellent mix of every walk and will be a concert we will remember forever. Can't say enough in recommending The Dead South live. They have excellent showmanship. LOVED IT!

So as someone that is generally working at gigs as the public safety and risk manager it was an absolute awesome experience to see the Dead South live at the Fortitude Valley Music Hall. The venue was the absolute perfect place to see a band that I have been following for years. It was a novel change to be out in the crowd and seeing the enthusiasm of each an every person in the room, it was a great gig and I had the best time

I never expected to have such fun at a bluegrass concert but I had an amazing time! Tejon and Rev. Peyton's Big Damn Band were also so fun to experience and everyone there was so nice and playful. If you're ever wondering if a concert is actually worth going to, this one totally is. I'm definitely going to another one if they come back to Ohio.

These guys are fantastic live, they are taut, professional and great great fun. The music is so infectious and joyous and they give it their all. They take the audience with them and interact well - and get such enthusiasm back. The light show was also great and their 4 guys in a row set up is simple but brings out the joy of a band playing great songs in unison. The venue is a good size, the bar too and friendly. A great show all around.

Still buzzing 3 days later! These boys don’t disappoint! The crowd was amazing and the love for The Dead South was overflowing! Blue Trash Cousins are the best! The venue was perfect, the staff really polite and friendly. The drinks are a little pricey but even that didn’t dampen the mood! Can’t wait now for The Blackdeer Festival!

First time seeing the band as missed out on tickets from their tour last year. Been completely in love with this band since I first heard them. And live they are phenomenal... was so great I bought tickets to their Birmingham show too! Been bought up with my dad playing the banjo and I played the cello ... this music just makes me happy 😁

The venue was a bit over sold & crowded as hell, some people were there to just get drunk so the noise level of the crowd was quite annoying & disrespectful to the bands in my opinion. Could barely hear the first opening act because of it & it’s a shame, because Del Suelo is awesome too! Whiskey shivers rocked hard, and TDS brought it all to stage and hung it out to dry regardless of those drunks who will not remember this epic show...
