About Tina Toplak
Originally from Austria and from a musical family, Tina started playing piano at the age of four and developed songwriting and composition skills as a young teenager. She wrote her first song at the age of 15 after her first heartbreak. “It seemed like a natural process to sit down and write about it, instead of talking to my friends”. Although she never showed this song to anybody, writing songs became her way of dealing with life.
Her passion for singing started when listening to artists such as Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Sam Brown and Christina Aguilera. "It was the passion and the pain I could hear in their voices, that moved me and made me want to develop the same power, emotion and delivery." Throughout her childhood and teens, Tina was trained by several vocal and piano coaches, starting from Opera Singer Nika Milliard and Wolfgang Watzka to popular music coaches like Stefan Mitterbacher, Wolfgang Berry and later on in London, Sean Jay.
In 2012 Tina moved to London where she studied Vocals and Performance at the BIMM Institute in London where she developed her performance and songwriting skills as well as was part of the in-house Gospel Choir. She performed regularly in local venues as a solo act and with the band. The production work on her first EP “Not An Angel” began in 2013 with music producer Max Honsinger and was released in January 2015. Tina then started to focus on production and instrumentation in music. She co-wrote and produced several songs with Dele Ladimeji (Songwriter for Mel C, Natasha Bedingfield, Jay Sean) began the production of her own music.
In Summer 2016 Tina supported Tony Mortimer (former East 17 legend) on his UK tour and continued her live shows whilst performing several times at the popular Virgin Money Lounges in Central London. Tina is currently working on the creation of her first studio album which is due to be released in January 2018.
The single “Can You Hear Me?” was released for download and online streaming on 31st January 2017.
