About Finding Lucy
Finding Lucy is an Indie Rock band from Columbia, South Carolina that has received an impressive level of national and international attention for a new group. Today's band members include Grayson Alexander (vocals, guitar, keys), Logan Charles (vocals, guitar), Alex Nolan (bass) and Evan Moore (drums). Influenced by bands like Go Radio, Mayday Parade, and From Indian Lakes, Finding Lucy features unique, powerful arrangements, captivating hooks and lyrics that reflect the social maze of their generation. Finding Lucy began as a hobby for Grayson and his friends in 2011, but the potential for developing the band into something more was evident after their first show in Charleston, SC in 2012. The hobby became a serious pursuit in March of 2014 after performing during the St. Patrick's Day Festival in downtown Columbia with new bassist Alex Nolan. Multiple engagements followed as the group's immense talent became evident to some local and regional promoters. In May of 2015, they released their first studio EP, "Long Live the Problem Child", and played their first summer festival in June (Carolina Craft Beer and Music Festival in Winston Salem, NC). Finding Lucy's first single release ("This Time") spent a total of 13 weeks on national digital radio airplay charts, climbing to #5 on the Adult Contemporary chart and #10 on the Rock chart on September 26, 2015. (www.digitalradiotracker.com) The band released their newest studio EP, "The New Normal", on May 21 of this year and has plans to launch a national FM radio campaign in June. In his review of Finding Lucy's new project, Vincent Harris of FreeTimes writes, "A band like Columbia’s Finding Lucy can accurately identify themselves as “indie rock” with a polished, perfectly performed EP like The New Normal, recorded locally at Archer Avenue Studio by Kenny McWilliams. On the surface, there’s a lot to like about the band and the record. The songs encompass precision-tuned, guitar-heavy rock with soaring choruses and passionate vocals. Kicking off with a song called “Still The Same,” the band sticks to the blueprint for making solid modern rock songs, with crisp guitars, tight rhythms and mile-wide hooks." Finding Lucy is not currently pursuing an active schedule of live engagements, but instead focusing on renewing the energy they were able to create with their first release. Their music is available through all major digital outlets and streaming music services.
