Andrei Irimia

Pianist and composer Andrei Irimia feels and creates music in an intimate connection with other arts. He is fascinated by how minimalistic piano music can generate spaces for introspection in the deepest corners of the human soul. His music reaches deep within, evoking feelings that linger.

As inspiration for his music, Andrei uses the magical beauty of nature and the kaleidoscope of human emotions. Melancholy is a constant in his music. He believes this is the gateway to a deeper knowing of the self. The constant remembrance of childhood, with its never-ending curiosity, is a source of Andrei’s creativity. His music expresses love, caress, and empathy, but also shows sorrow, grief, and suffering. It does so sincerely and authentically. It captures the fragile and vulnerable moments of life, the precious experiences that make us feel alive.

Since he was very young, Andrei has found that the piano’s melodic chords let him express his deepest feelings. They also let him communicate with the world in a deep and meaningful way. As a child, he was fascinated by the performing arts and how they can impact us through our senses. This fascination became the foundation of his core philosophy about music and the creative process. He feels a strong need to be involved in the artistic process that has the power to change someone’s state of mind. In his latest project, “Lights & Shadows” the light becomes a partner of music, shaping space and creating a hypnotic atmosphere that captivates and inspires. Andrei is currently on tour with Răzvan Paun on violin and Thibault Solorzano on cello.

And it appears that these audiences built up to a following which, of course, started to completely change his life. Now, with an ever growing profile on all social media, Andrei Irimia has become one of Romania‘s most appreciated contemporary piano composers. His compositions and live performances have deeply touched thousands of Romanian listeners and his work has been featured in several soundtracks (for marketing purposes), media, short films and various corporate projects.
