Briana Corrigan

Great to see Briana back in Newcastle for an intimate show. I missed out on the Cumberland Arms gig last year, so glad I could make it this time. As a long time fan who used to see her 'pre-South' band the Anthill Runaways, it's been a long time coming! Briana was on great form with music and banter with an enthusiastic audience. The acoustic band consisting of cello and guitar were just right. Obviously some of the audience were just there for the singalong 'South' tunes, but her new solo material was excellent too. A smattering of other covers such as Shipbuilding, Caledonia (dedicated to her brother) and Everybody's Talking were also included. The all-female support, Kissed, consisting of other long-standing musician's from the local scene warmed up the audience nicely with an eclectic set of covers such as Army Dreamers and Radar Love.
