About Phal:Angst
PHAL:ANGST is a haunting industrial / (post-) rock band, based in Vienna, Austria. Started in 2006 as a collaboration of the projects PHAL and PROJEKT ANGST. Soon we realized that we wanted to perform as a real band and added a bassplayer. Since then we have played several shows, recorded five albums and a soundtrack. Our fifth album was released in January 2023 on NOISE APPEAL RECORDS.
We did large parts of the soundtrack for the dystopian Berlin indie film “Saila” (Julia Ostertag, 2008), our music was used for Paul Poet’s documentary “Blackout” (2018) and an edition of ORF’s “kulturMontag”. We created special compositions for the festival “Turn On My Theta” curated by Peter Nachtnebel at Fluc Vienna in 2011, a “Rundgang” event at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in 2017 and the anti-government compilation “Ihr werdet euch noch wundern!” (2018), interpretations of the Velvet Underground for the “Velvet Underground Gala” (Fluc Vienna 2010) and the Beatles for a tribute at the “Shelter” (Vienna 2012).
