Fumble

In March 1992 four young dudes from the suburb Olari, calling themselves Fumble, released their debut EP "Walk Alone". The band, which was born out of the suburban skateboarding and punk rock scene of the early nineties, played frequently at Helsinki's classic underground venues Lepakko and Shadow Club and occasionally even at Finland’s “rock mecca” Tavastia Club. Inspired by Ramones, Descendents and other melodic high-energy bands, Fumble was one of the first Finnish bands to play California style melodic punk rock. Early highlights included shows with the legendary Olari band Sideffect, and supporting the band's heroes, the band All (members of Descendents), at their Helsinki show in 1994. With the young band members scattered across Finland, the band quit just when melodic California-style punk rock hit the mainstream with bands like Green Day and Offspring leading the pack. After a long hiatus, Fumble was reborn in 2006 with Onni and Rami from the original line-up joining forces with a fierce new drummer, Mikko, to create the second incarnation of the band. The band's DIY ethic, combined with the new possibilities of the "Myspace era", soon energized the band to release its debut album "Rise" in 2007 and to tour internationally. In 2009, Fumble's new line-up was rounded out with the addition of Pekka on bass. The band toured Spain in the summer 2009 and Northern Europe in the summer of 2010 while developing it’s unique sound influenced by lesser-known 90’s punk rock bands such as Jawbreaker and Samiam while creating a current and innovative sound of their own. After three years of touring and songwriting with the current line-up, the band started recording it’s second album in the summer of 2012 in its own studio. The tracks were recorded by the band members themselves in true DIY fashion with final mixing by Pekka “Splendid” Laine. In 2013 Fumble celebrated its 21-years of punk rock adventures by self-releasing its new album "Incomplete" on September 14th. That show was also the last with bass-player Pekka as he moved to New York. In 2014 Fumble got the awesome new bass player Henkka and with lots of new songs already written the band will release new material and tour extensively in 2015.
