About Dialtone

There are no "real" rock bands left on the indie music scene anymore. Remember when rock music was cool enough to be a cultural touchpoint? Dialtone is a true modern rock band unique in today's stagnant and pussified rock music world. A critic once described Dialtone as "taking the pristine indie pop song and then rolling it around outside the punk club." Dialtone have been driven to create music that they want hear on the radio. Not watered down hybrid genrefied indie rock that sounds like it should be background music on a television show. Music that grabs you by the balls and forces you to listen. Dialtone has created this sound by adding a modern take on the music of the 60s and 70s. Dialtone are quarteto from L.A including members: Paul Orea (guitar, lead vocals), Michael Orea (drummer, harmony singer) Daesik Kim ( bass guitar), and Thomas Alkaersig (lead guitar) with extensive road experience under their belt, including three self-funded tours (regional & national). They play at least one local show a month and have played all the major clubs around town including The Whisky, House Of Blues, The Viper Room, and The Roxy. They regularly draw big crowds at their shows and have a strong following in North Hollywood, Santa Monica and Portland. They also have an extended international reach (including fans in Mexico and Indonesia). They released their 2nd self-produced album called Wind Me Up on November 17, of 2012 and the single "Cool Kids" was played a few times on Buzzbands LA and a other college stations nationally. They go on the road whenever they can raise the money but always take small trips all around the Southwest when they are in between major tours. Their 1st self-produced album No Hang Ups was number one in 2009 on numerous college radio stations. In April of 2013 Dialtone performed on The Artie Lang Show in New York City. Dialtone were also round one winners of The Grow Music Project in late 2013 and got to record their single "Tomorrow" for free with famed TV composer Christopher Tyng who wrote the music for Futurama, Rescue Me, Suits and The OC. Their single "Tomorrow" along with a Documentary about their recording session with GMP were released in April of 2014. In a nutshell Dialtone are a cross between the big stadium sound of Queen and The Rolling Stones, the genre busting of Bowie and R.E.M. and the soul of The Black Keys. https://soundcloud.com/dialtonetheband
