About DJ Mindaugelis

*Mindaugelis_biography* Quality, talent, passion - only few words to describe Mindaugelis. DJ, who's not interested in glamour, but in doing his job properly - something uncommon in the current DJ scene. To say that Mindaugelis is one of the busiest and most successful DJs in Lithuania is not an understatement. The professionals agree that he is one of the most technical DJs in the Baltic States. His proficiency was described by the legendary British Renaissance and prestigious South American Feedback as "perfect", proving that recent achievements of this Lithuanian club scene icon are only the beginning for the formidable talent from Lithuanian Western shore. One of the biggest public favourites in Lithuania and Latvia. Professionals admit Mindaugelis has probably the best technique in the Baltics. He started deejaying at the age of 13, and now is one of the most outstanding names in modern Baltic dance music culture: he's the youngest professional Lithuanian DJ, who has won recognition from the critics, including awards such as being officially named "Best Lithuanian DJ", four times. Latvian public unanimously proclaimed Mindaugelis as one of the best Baltic progressive house DJs of all the times after his debut in Riga in 2003, aligning him with a long time praised Bogdan Taran. He also received Latvian music award Bravo as the best 2002 remix author. The best characteristics of Mindaugelis performance on the club scene is the music styles he represents - Tribal house, underground, progressive, Electro house, tech, minimal, and of course the energy exchange with the Crowd. Mindaugelis career began in 1995 at the dawn of Lithuanian club life on the underground techno music parties in Klaipeda. Starting with 1997 Mindaugelis has been a constant resident at one of the most popular Lithuanian night clubs At the beginning of his career, Mindaugelis was influenced by English electronic projects of 90's as well as experimentalist musicians that inspired him to polish his own approach to music. Additional support on the way to recognition came from having been introduced to the second best DJ in Lithuania 8 years ago, Marius Ivanoff, with whom they later launched the M&M brand, as business partners. After three years of collaboration, in 2002 their productions won the interest of Pure Chicago, due to which they became representatives of the American progressive house music Mecca Chicago in Western Europe. The same summer Mindaugelis, together with Marius promoted Warm Up DJ tour in Lithuania and Russia with Chris Walsh, Chad Sommer supporting their common label Pure. Successfully creating personal careers on the Western direction both got enormous recognition playing consummate back2back DJ sets which were named by many dance music specialists as "top of the Baltic DJ professionalism." During last four years Mindaugelis experienced sudden career rise, performing together with leading progressive house DJs - Sasha, Steve Lawler (Excession, UK), Sultan (BullitBookings, CAN), Pete Heller, Mark Wilkinson (Kidstuff, UK) , Omid 16 B (UK),Mark Knight (Toolroom ) Barry Gilbey (Choochoo UK), Luis Paris (Plastic Fantastic, UK), Nic Fanciulli (sved , UK), John Creamer (Satelite Rec, NY), James Zabiela (Excession ,UK), Wally Lopez (Quality, SPA), Xpress2 (Renaissance, UK), Sander Kleinenberg (Renaissance, UK), , Dave Seaman (Renaissance,UK), Lee Burridge (Excession, UK), Nick Warren (Excession, UK), Paul Jackson (Underwater Rec, UK), and many elite DJs. He also performed during Sundance Music festival in 2001, 2002 in Russia, Byelorussia and Poland. From 2003 until 2005 Mindaugelis had been one of the DJs and promoters at the Lithuanian event series "Nokia Plug-in", where he performed with the world first class stars. The wide recognition among the professionals made him the first Baltic progressive DJ who was capable of breaking Western stereotype of Baltic region as inactive in the club activity field. Mindaugelis and Marius Ifanoff team has the most successful Lithuanian dance music projects of the last years on their account starting with the legendary "Nokia Plug-in" and the radio show under the same name up to latest festival Pure Future, owing to which we can talk about the strength of Lithuanian club culture. He's a constant guest at the high-profile events not only in the Baltic region and Russia, where progressive house music has reached the break of dawn, but also in Amsterdam clubs IT, X-tra large, mass Crazyland, Ibiza super club Amnesia, Belgian underground scene and many others. First single of Mindaugelis and Marius Ivanoff, entitled "Sun Rising" became the anthem of the Pure Future Music Event in 2005. The single combined Lithuanian historical folklore with modern house-electro sound. It was re-mixed by many known producers, such as Louis Paris from Plastic Fantastic. In October, 2006 together with Andrius Alien (Happyendles DJ team) they released a remix of Swain&Paris track Tykes Groove under the Dave Seaman label Therapy Sessions. 2008 Stu hirst i Big rooms begger tune ( Mindaugelis with Andrius Alien ) released on Global Underground Mindaugelis believes that "there's no use of fooling by copying and imitating. Searching for one's own in an ascetic manner, using the language of music to introduce meaningful melodies to the masses while giving your best is what drives me."
