Soul Coughing

I had very high hopes for this show. I'd never seen Soul Coughing before and I figured this may be my one and only opportunity. Even though I was traveling out of town the day of the show I made a 3+ hour drive into town for it. Granted I did arrive about 30 minutes late so maybe I missed the best part. I just felt that the show was rather low energy and I wanted it to last longer. One time seeing them will be enough for me.

Venue was amazing, but I can't say enough about how good Soul Coughing was. Mike's voice was amazing and it seems like this group hasn't missed a beat in the past 25 years. My friends and I all flew in for this show and we're so glad we did. The music took us back to our problem-free days back in the 90's in Minneapolis when we discovered this amazing band. It seems that it's more hype than talent to be a musician these days, it was so nice to enjoy the poetry of Mike Doughty with the incredible musical talent of the original band members. This was truly a memorable evening and one I'll cherish for a long time.

Band sounded great, rhythm section was mind blowing. acl live is great laid back venue, sound is always great and easy getting in and out.

It was amazing. I was a little too young in the 90s to see them live. I NEVER thought I would. This is a 25 year dream come true.

Great to see these guys after so many years. They've aged really well and their songs are still the ones you remember from your youth, but there's a different energy behind them. But one of the all time underratedly great rhythm sections got BETTER with time. Damn these guys were tight. Such a great night.

awesome show! got beer spilled on me accidently, but other than that it was a pretty good time. not my favorite concert i've been to, but definitely a good one. glad they played rolling, and ending with super bon bon was a good choice :]

Fun show. Best $15 I spent all year. Their sound is very chill, even if most of us only knew the last few songs

I never thought I’d be able to see these guys play live, and I’m so happy I could! They’ve absolutely still got it! Vocals, sound, and style were on point, and they looked like they were having a blast up on stage! Ultimately it was just so special to be able to enjoy music, live, that I’ve always loved with so many other fans one last time!

I've never been to the Ogden. Pretty cool venue. I work at the Zoo bar in Lincoln, NE. I know cool bars. As far as bands, there are not many that I will drive across the whole state of Nebraska to see, and then turn around and drive home the next morning. Soul Coughing is legitimate fun. Steam off consciousness lyrics, stand up bass work that stands up any jazz trio on acid, keyboard/sound mechanic that puts to shame many industrial bands, and a very solid drummer who is well versed in many styles. I've seen in articles that they refer to themselves as slacker jazz, but they work too hard and create too much insane fun to be slacker anything. How about try beat hop jazz, maybe?

Really excellent show. Yuval Gabay is my new favorite drummer. The whole band was really on their game and that rhythm section (drums especially) is amazing. A little over 90 minutes of unadulterated bliss for me!

Doughty and the band sounded perfect. So fun in person. Crowd loved it. Plus, they have the best merch!

Epic! What an amazing show! As a fan since “back in the day”, I am so stoked to have been there for the very first one their tour. If you can still get tickets for any of the shows, I highly recommend going. You will not be disappointed!!!
