About Last Legs

Last Legs
Last Legs is a group of five friends; musicians with our lives and art so intertwined that the lines have blurred between band and family. Accomplishments in music, life milestones, and loss become shared.
Our music visits themes of love, loss, and desperation - specifically exploring the ambiguous spaces where those experiences meet one another. Most narratives are placed in banal and everyday settings, dreams, and memories. Memories about a first kiss lives alongside the emotional complexity of a dying parent -- visiting bleak truths, youthful optimism, vulnerability, and the affects of rejection. The music and production often adds to this tension, rhythmically infectious songs that make you want to dance, paired with nostalgic synth and samples that bring you back to a time when experiences had undeniable mass, shaping who you'd become.
You may hear Low, The Dirty Three, Talking Heads, TV on the Radio etc...this is what others have told us, anyway. We have convinced ourselves that we might be able to recreate a short list of 'perfect' songs Bob Dylan "Not Dark Yet", Suicide's "Dream Baby Dream", anything for Paul Simon's "Graceland" or maybe Nick Cave's "Into My Arms". That will likely never happen, but we'll keep trying. We are all music lovers too, after all.
Ultimately, we hope whatever we create can connect with others, since that is the point. Communication. Catharsis. Therapy. Art. Whatever you want to call it, it's what we spend our time doing. Trying our best to express ourselves the only way we know how, through music, friendship, and love.
