About Rebecca Beralas
BACKGROUND Rebecca Beralas hails from the small surfing town of Sunset Beach, on Oahu’s North Shore. Born to parents of Samoan and Caucasian descent, she began singing and writing music as a young child. In 2007, she started sharing her music on Youtube. After gaining positive feedback and thousands of views, Rebecca began performing as a back-up singer and then as a lead singer, for a series of local bands. After gaining experience across numerous Hawaii venues, Rebecca made the decision to pursue a career as a solo artist in 2012. Rebecca teamed up with talented Honolulu/LA producer Matthew Honda to record her self-titled EP, which was released in November of 2014. She continued to work with Honda for her full-length album, "Looking In," which was released on August 18th, 2015. Her latest single "Our Turn", released April 19th 2016, reflects the growth and maturity she has gained as both a vocalist and an individual. Since then, Rebecca has been busy performing both intimate acoustic and full-band shows across the Hawaiian Islands. Her music has been featured on radio stations in Hawaii, California, Utah, Aotearoa (New Zealand), Rapa Nui (Easter Island) and Japan. In February 2015 she headlined her first Hawaiian Island tour, and has gone on to perform at the Pan Pacific Festival, Great Aloha Run, Sunrise Morning Show, and most notably, the 2015 Na Hoku Hanohano Music Awards, as a finalist for the "Female Vocalist of the Year" category.
