MIRRAH Dreams. We’re all made of dreams. But for one artist, dreams are not enough to make the heart full. It’s about Authenticity. Born in Jogjakarta, Indonesia, MIRRAH is one half Indonesian and African American, adopted at 4 months old to Caucasian American and Australian parents. Having grown up in between California and Sydney, it’s not easy to pigeonhole a musician like Mirrah with a melting pot of multicultural influences surging deep through her veins. In fact, when you meet MIRRAH, her free spirit is contagious to the point where she effortlessly invigorates you to acknowledge your own calling in life. MIRRAH dons multiple hats not only as a Musician, but a Radio Host, Poet, Rapper, Vocalist, and a recent graduate in Youth Work Services. With a natural talent vested in music and performance at an early age, MIRRAH set her sights on London at the age of 19 years old as a dancer. In the years 2000 – 2005, Mirrah based herself in Los Angeles featuring in multiple music video clips for some of Hip Hop and R&B music’s multi-award winning artists. In 2005, MIRRAH had entered a reality TV show aired on UPN called “R U The Girl?” which was a contest featuring the remaining members of R&B group, TLC. The premise of the show was to find a third member to provide vocals only for a new single that was to be recorded as part of TLC. MIRRAH was second runner-up, winning the hearts of American fans, and was often described as ‘sweet, humble, spiritual and well grounded’. In response to how the competition changed her, “They (T-boz and Chilli of TLC) have given me the world and support, and have taught me about myself in how I may be more knowledgeable in my near future career in this entertainment field of music.” Believing that communication is the key to learning about one another, MIRRAH is a passionate artist with a strong message of self-empowerment, positivity, and unity through loving oneself authentically. www.greenroomsydney.com.au
