About Melody
There are three artists with this name:
1) melody. is a Japanese pop singer who was born on February 24th, 1982 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She started out modeling at the age of 16, but wanted to launch a music career in Japan and did so with the release of her first single, Dreamin' Away, on February 19th, 2003. It wasn't until her first collaboration with m-flo on their "m-flo loves..." project that she became more well-known.
On October 22, 2008, melody. announced that she will retire from the music industry in January 2009. She plans to enter the fashion industry as a designer of Western-styled clothes.
From April 2007 until October 2008, melody. was the host of J-MELO, an all-English weekly show focused on Japanese music that airs on NHK World TV. Outside of Japan, she may be known for playing the character "Yumi Yamamoto" in Electronic Art's Need for Speed: Carbon, which also featured the Junkie XL remix of her song FEEL THE RUSH on its soundtrack.

2) Melodía Ruiz Gutiérrez (born October 18, 1989 in Dos Hermanas, Spain), better known in the Spanish music world as Melody, is a pop singer. Some close relatives used to belong to a music group named Los Quillos.
She released her first album, Melody in 2000. Her single El Baile Del Gorila (Gorilla Dance) became a number one hit all over Latin America, even received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Children's Album in 2002. In 2001, she had a long and extended tour throughout South America, Central America and the Caribbean. In Puerto Rico, for example, she had to do two concerts instead of one, as planned.
She released a second CD in December 2002 and she is on tour all over Latin America again in 2003. For her new tour, it was said that some cities she will visit have requested three concerts in a row to be performed by her at those locations. Her most recent project consists of her new hit single Dabadabada, which contains her Sera music video along with two other songs.
3) Melody, a band from Japan. Their music is a happy pop-style. After they disbanded three of the members continued as THE★MELODY, calling themselves "Super Ultra Miracle Rock Band".
