Joel, your voice, your music, your presence—just incredible. You don’t just sing songs; you tell stories that are so real and raw, they go straight to the heart. It was such a beautiful night for me—thank you, truly. Some of the songs hit so deeply, I found myself tearing up. I could feel the care and meaning poured into every note Other than a small, insignificant speaker glitch, the venue couldn’t have been more perfect for something so intimate and powerful. Daniels Hall beautifully honors the native tribal lands the venue is on. Authentic performers and musicians like you all are rare. The band—wow. Mike, your intensity and focus were magnetic. Watching you play, it felt like I was pulled right into your world. Noah, the way you connect with your bandmates and the audience—it brought so much joy. And to the drummer—I didn’t quite catch your name, but watching you in action was also like locking into the song's movements and emotions. You all clearly have something special between you, and it radiates out. It was an honor to be there, to witness it, to feel it. Thank you for such a touching and moving experience; it was exactly what I needed! :) Patti

About Covenhoven

Colorado native Joel Van Horne, aka Covenhoven, has dubbed his new critically acclaimed album the ocean record, because he wrote the songs while touring and exploring the west coast over the past 2 years. Chapter 3 in the Covenhoven story, “A Kind of Revelation” continues his over-arching theme of immersion in a place, and letting that place become the centerpiece of the music. Big Sur, Olympic National Park, and the Oregon coast served as his geographical muse this time around. The resulting 9 songs are a captivating journey that transport the listener to the remote corners of the windswept coastal wildernesses from which they were born.
