It was an absolute joyful moment for my daughter and I meeting you and listening to your show. You are a Truly gifted talented musical genius on the ukulele. I used your videos when teaching my preschoolers about instruments. What you can play and how you play the ukulele is mesmerizing and remarkable. Your love of music and sound is a true gift from God. You can feel your passion as you play. It was a true honor to meet you. A very down to earth nice gentle caring man. May you continue to be blessed. I do hope you get to be with your family soon. They must miss you when on tour. Thank you and them for sacrificing so we can be blessed by your incredible talent. Please let us know when you will be in New York again. True musical fans!

What a wonderful show - amazing talent & in such a great setting at Jazz Alley. Jake & his guitarist were so compatible in their presenting a great music venue. My daughter treated me to the event as she knows how much I love Hawaii & music. We left with joy in our hearts & 2 pair of Jake’s socks. Thank you Jake. Jake and Jackson and Justin were all fantastic, better than even the highest expectations. Truly wonderful. However, the venue was horrible. City Winery is a terrible place that cannot make up it's mind whether it's a concert venue or a restaurant. Each patron gets a 12 inch by 12 inch section of table and about that much room for their chair. The chairs are chipped and the tables all wobble. Everything is packed in too tight, the floor plan for ticket purchasing is completely out of scale. It shows floor space that does not exist. We will never go back no matter who comes to perform.

Years ago we were introduced to Jake Shimabakuro music. We considered him a most accomplished musician. Not only is he a most talented musician, he is the kindest most humble man. He truly embodies the Aloha Spirit and brings comfort and joy to so many…through his music and his acts of kindness. We have been attending Jake’s concerts for several years and he is now accompanied by bassist Jackson Waldhoff, who is also an amazing musician and so incredibly humble as well as the talented singer and musician Justin Kawika Young. They are such an incredible ensemble of artists. The Fox Tucson Theatre is an intimate and lovely venue. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Alright. There is only one person that can make the ukelele sing and sound like a whole band, and that's Jake. Unbelievable riffs and compositions! And his demeanor is so low-key, polite and genuine. Just as you would expect a local boy from Hawai'i to be! No ka 'oi!!

As always expected, Jake provided another outstanding entertainment evening. His mastery of the ukulele in many types of music was evident from classical to reggae to hard rock to complex hawiian classics. A first for me to experience was a sing along to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. Of course, more female concergoers knew the lyrics and could hit the notes. I did hear a few gray hairs around me chime in on "poor boy". Jake's play list included many standards and some new offerings off of his latest CD, Grateful. Joining on stage was bassest Jackson Waldhoff who creates a subtle but complex beat. Jackson had a few breakout solos in the performance too. I never know whether Jake will go very accustic or very electronic. This show was a mix. You could have heard a pin drop in the audience on some of the quiet songs. On more full electric he showed sound layering techniques to mimic past performances where he had accompanyment and in one wild set I think he must have built 5 layers of sound before performing an Eddie Van Halen style rock out. I'll plug the Carolina Theatre here for hosting this and many other terrific shows. It demonstrates how a venue that was built almost 100 years ago can be personal and intimate. So, keep your eyes and ears open for the next time Jake comes to town.

Jake put on an awesome concert. He had guest performers and he also did a great job soloing his tunes. I have really been looking forward to seeing him, it was on my bucket list of shows to see! If you ever have a chance please go to his show. He is a wonderful person and fantastic ukulele player.

I was thoughtly entertained and impressed by his music and how he interacted with the audience. He was humble and so appreciated. All the musicians on stage, including his two children we all adorable and professional. Jake took the time to take pictures with fans and family and turned around to say Aloha to me and shake my hand. Looking forward to seeing him at more shows. I promise, he will not disappoint 🤙

Worth every penny and then some! Jake is so talented. This was the second concert of his that we attended and what an amazing show. The acoustics of Moore Theater was spectacular! The seats were as small as main cabin airline seats, but we had no one in front, behind, or next to us so we scored! We will definitely attend his future concerts.

Jake is such an amazing and talented virtuoso ukulele musician. He evokes music and sounds out of the ukulele that you cannot even imagine come from this small instrument. What a treat to see him (and Justin and Jackson) another time and back in the beautiful Crest Theatre in Sacramento. A terrific venue for a terrific performance! Can’t wait until he comes back to Northern California!

Very honoured to be in the presence of two of the 'ukulele world's royalty, Jake Shimabakuro and Andy Eastwood. A brilliant concert, with their very different styles providing a wonderful evening. Afterwards, Jake was gracious enough to spend a few minutes chatting, even though I am sure he'd rather have been heading off for bed!

Brilliant, he is the world’s best uke player, best show I have seen for a long time. I had eyes like saucers watching him, could not believe what I was seeing. His hands are just a blur when he is playing. I have been a big fan for quite a few years and could not believe that he was coming to Brighton all the way from Hawaii, amazing. Wonderful to see him in real life, he seems to be a really nice guy, I even got an autograph, great. His base player was a great support. We have a lot of Uke groups in and around Brighton and I’m sure if they had known about the show the place would have been rammed full. Anyone who appreciates good uke or guitar playing, would have enjoyed the show. It was less than 5 weeks before the show we were able to buy tickets, we had been waiting for them to come up for ages. We thought it had been cancelled, very poor! I tried to get people from our local groups, 3 different ones, to come but, it was all a bit too late. The online information once we had tickets was really good, a bit more before would have been even better. Nice venue. Great seats, nice with a table, Bar was good, Friendly staff. Had a great time, what a show, 5 stars from me. Hope he comes back. Luv Sue x

The first time I saw Jake's video in Central Park, NY many years ago I have wanted to see him. I was at the show Jan 29th and it was amazing! I have been to MANY concerts while living in NY and have even worked in stage production. This was was one the greatest musical experiences I have ever had (beside doing lights and sound for Ray Charles at the Baily Arboretum on LI back in 1988). Phenomenal show!! Looking forward to seeing him again. Tony P.

I believe this was my fourth time seeing Jake perform live, and he has not lost any of the magic!! A fantastic show of virtuosic playing. Jake's optimistic personality and love for the music is inspirational, and as we continue in this pandemic, is really needed. Thank you Jake for a great show, and I hope you return to Sitka soon!!

This was one of the most exceptional concert experiences of my life (and I have been around the block re: concerts in my 55 years!). Jake's infectious passion for what he does - his movement on stage (I wanted to go up there and dance with him) - his incredible talent and ingenuity - it blew me away. I am an instant groupie and can't wait to see him again. His bass player was also phenomenal and what they did together made the music come alive - it was practically three-dimensional. Thank you!!!!

Jake Shimabukuro is an Artist with no equal in my book! He can rock out to Bohemian Rhapsody and then play Hallelujah in the next beat! If you love your ears, do them a favor, and take them to one of Jake’s shows! They will thank you for it!

He was amazing as usual! I respect him as an artist but even more as a person! So humble! So down to earth! Took time afterwards to do meet and greet and was very welcoming and friendly! We could tell that he and his crew were tired but they didn’t let it affect them! Thank you Jake and your team!

I can’t say enough how fantastic this experience was. The show was just amazing. I came to see the best ukulelist in the world and Jake Shimabukuro did not disappoint me. He really engaged the sold out crowd and managed to get real down to earth with the people in attendance. After the show he stayed behind to greet every single one of his fans who to meet him and signed autographs. He even brought his own sharpie to sign everyone’s ukuleles. It’s amazing that a world famous artist can stay so humble and treat every single one of his fans as if he was no more famous than the woman taking tickets. Fabulous artist. Amazing class act all around. I can’t recommend one of his shows highly enough.

it was great. The music jake and his band played was so beautiful and original. He is a ukulele master. What he can do with the ukulele is amazing. it was cool he had a guitarist and bass player. He is a great guy as well and had a nice msg to encourage the children in the audience. We loved it thouroughly. And if you are a uke player like me you appreciate it so much more. Amazing what can be done with this humble little instrument.

I only heard of Jake recently. I was absolutely amazed by what he does with a ukulele! YouTube just cannot transmit the dynamic range and tonal response Jake gets from the little 4-string instrument. It is no wonder it was a sold-out show, and I am certain a theater-full of people left completely content. Just amazing!
